Takin' Care of Hubby... (or, What I Do on My Days' Off)

Setting up the juicer for George's carrot juice.

Feeding a carrot- the juice comes out below and the pulp comes out the end.

A delicious and nutritious glass of freshly juiced carrot juice!

I envy you that juicer! I've wanted one for such a long time now! Of course, the questions remains: if I had one... would I actually use it? Hmm...

I found a GREAT website with some gluten-free bread recipes that you could try out. I made gluten-free pumpkin bread at Thanksgiving from this site and thought it was delicious! Here's the link: http://www.cookingbread.com/gluten_free.html

Thank you for your wonderful comments. I love reading them!

Congratulations on the Friends of George success! I hope the funds continue to pour in! The video is staying on my blog forever -- I figure that even after you meet your goal there will be transportation costs, days missed from work, etc.

Blessings and thanks, my friend!

So do you use the pulp too? Seems like it would be good for carrot cake or bread or something.

Well, since we don't get to eat much carbs in an effort to keep his sugar levels low, I haven't saved it for any type of bread- although that would be perfect!! I do have a bean loaf recipe (like a meatloaf) that I sometimes save it for.
I plan to start a compost pile this year, so I have started saving it in a container to add to that.

Lacy- thanks so much for your help in getting the word out!!! ((hugs))

Your compost pile will love it. I am not one to think ahead on composting, so I only do it "in season"

Hmmm... I bet you could make some really neat hummus with the carrot pulp. Can George have tahini?
