I plan to devote this blog primarily to sharing my journey of keeping my life with my husband simple and fun, and focused on making as many positive memories as we possibly can! I have been very caught up, the last few years, in trying to "find" my "purpose"- and have devoted large amounts of time and money in that pursuit- and am coming back around with a strong sense that the only thing I should be doing at this time in my life is living each day WITH purpose, and enjoying the life I have.
My husband and I have been married for nearly 17 years (in April). He is a 6+ year survivor of an aggressive form of early prostate cancer. He has taken radical steps with diet and supplementation, and is LIVING proof that what you put in does make a difference! In fact, we had one doctor tell us that he was surprised to even see him still alive. We refuse to accept defeat- and we appreciate all prayers! Instead, we plan to travel and enjoy life together. Stay "posted"!

I'm just out making quick visits and I wanted to come by and say Howdy! My prayers & thoughts are with you both!
I have come by and done some reading. George will be added to my prayer list, as will you. Blessings,
Last night was our staff Christmas Dinner. Our boss goes ALL out and takes us out to eat at a fancy restaurant of our choice, and then the sky is the limit with what we order! It was so fun!! We ate at a restaurant called PrimaVista, which is at the top of a hill with a view of the entire city and river down below. We had a front and center window seat (the exterior wall is entirely windows)- it was a glorious view!! We ordered before-dinner cocktails/appetizers/salads/entrees/desserts/after-dinner coffees. The meal was fabulous, we all loved it, and had a blast together. There are only 8 on the staff, so the camaraderie is strong. It helped me remember what is really good about this job and being a part of it. She also handed out cards with a nice, fat Christmas bonus. yay!! Vacation spending money!! It was fun to dress up and go out to eat.
Beforehand, most of us went over to a co-worker's house who lives close to work, and then we caravanned to the restaurant (which was just minutes from my house). Her house is Christmas Heaven!! So amazing all the little trees and decorations and ornaments, etc. all over the place! She loves Christmas and delights in finding all kinds of fun things to put out. Working at an antique store, you are surrounded by wonderful, collectible Christmas STUFF. It made me wish I felt more festive about Christmas!! I tend to not get that excited about decorating for it. I think I need to see the "fun" in life more. Stop taking everything so seriously. That is something this particular coworker is opening my eyes to. Just because life sometimes tosses you rotten eggs, doesn't mean you can't LAUGH. I'm going to work on that.
