I plan to devote this blog primarily to sharing my journey of keeping my life with my husband simple and fun, and focused on making as many positive memories as we possibly can! I have been very caught up, the last few years, in trying to "find" my "purpose"- and have devoted large amounts of time and money in that pursuit- and am coming back around with a strong sense that the only thing I should be doing at this time in my life is living each day WITH purpose, and enjoying the life I have.
My husband and I have been married for nearly 17 years (in April). He is a 6+ year survivor of an aggressive form of early prostate cancer. He has taken radical steps with diet and supplementation, and is LIVING proof that what you put in does make a difference! In fact, we had one doctor tell us that he was surprised to even see him still alive. We refuse to accept defeat- and we appreciate all prayers! Instead, we plan to travel and enjoy life together. Stay "posted"!

I'm just out making quick visits and I wanted to come by and say Howdy! My prayers & thoughts are with you both!
I have come by and done some reading. George will be added to my prayer list, as will you. Blessings,
Well, as you could tell from our pics- we had a BLAST in the Bahamas! What a gorgeous place!!! How incredible to live in a place that has an average, year 'round temp. of 74-78!! I would love to live there!! I'd have a gorgeous vegetable garden year round!! But anyway- for now we are back in chilly Cincinnati.
although today is rather pretty and sunny. I even sat out in my back yard this afternoon with a cup of coffee and let the sun hit my face. ahhh. I got a bit of a burn in the Bahamas- it's starting to brown- and PEEL!
I certainly did not inherit the good tanning genes. I must have very little melanin. Unlike my baby sister who browns like CRAZY!! lucky girl.
Okay- as most of you know, we eat a very natural diet of mostly raw fruits and veggies, and anything cooked we cook from scratch, and keep meals very simple using ingredients as close to nature as possible. We also try very hard to buy organic. WELL. Apparently there is a price to organic- and I'm not talking at the register!!! haha! I have been enjoying a bag of organic dried prunes the past few days, just a couple a day to keep the ol' system running smoothly- you know... So the other day I reached in, pulled out a nice, fat, juicy prune, popped it in my mouth, and started to chew. When I looked into the bag. And to my horror. There was a WORM!!!
I quickly pulled the prune out of my mouth and looked at it. Yeah, you guessed it. I guess I've had some extra PROTEIN the past few days!!!!
Needless to say, we will be returning the bag of prunes.
p.s. anyone tuning in to Highschool Reunion on TV Land?? It started last night at 10:00 and comes on every Wednesday (you can still see it b/c they are running reruns of it). It's a reality show of a 20 year H.S. reunion. Looks fun.
